DESIGN FOR BUILD

Tired of seeing your design intent lost in translation?

Because you didn't notice the engineering change in the shop drawings?

Tired of realizing far too late that a fine detail was missed?

Because it's being installed on site, and nothing can be done at this point?

Tired of explaining to clients that design or quality cuts need to be made to stay in budget?

After they're already in love with the design?

I'm MeLinda.

I'm a millwork specialist with a strong background in drafting engineering for luxury custom shops in New York. I also have a lot of fun designing in the luxury market. 20 years in, and I've recognized my niche and my passion in space planning and millwork.

I've heard it all from both sides. I've listened to the pain points from designers who were disappointed in how their vision was translated, because they didn't fully understand what they approved or that it could be engineered another way to preserve their design. They want more help and guidance from the 'millwork professional' but the shop falls short.

I've listened to the pain points from shop engineers and craftsmen who recognize design flaws but can offer no further input, so they ignore it and proceed with what they feel is best or standard for their practice. They assume all designers ask for things with no understanding of how it's built or what it costs to build it right, so they go rogue.

I realized that there was a need in the industry that wasn't being filled, so I'm here to bridge the gap. With this course I can empower you to design for build, and turn you into a Millwork Maven.

"Space planning and millwork is the missing internal link in my biz."

"I would 100% sign up for that. I can create amazing 3D models, but I don't have knowledge of construction and specifications."
